Tom Zubrycki

Since digital technology, including viewing platforms, coding and visual standards are continuously evolving over time it's good practice to revisit and re-evaluate your clients website every couple of years.

Tom's website was built in 2006 using a custom PHP template and offered limited CMS capabilities. After faithfully serving it's purpose for over 6 years it was time for some serious evaluation.

The new site uses WordPress as the CMS. THIS offers a cost-effective alternative to a custom coded site while allowing greater flexibility for user generated content. The design and templates have been custom built and designed to offer a unique (not off-the-shelf template) visual identity.

Green Endings

Invocare asked us to design and create a Flash virtual tour to showcase the grounds of  Oakwood Funerals carbon neutral funeral services. The tour was carefully designed to complement the Reading Rooms site design and make use of limited screen real-estate. Virtual tour photography was undertaken by the talented Pixelcase crew based in Western Australia.

The tour can be viewed at http://www.greenendings.com.au/en/Virtual Tour.aspx

Just Locum

Meat2veg were recently tasked with redesigning the Just Locum website. As well as overhauling the graphical interface, a major content restructure was undertaken to help better present top tier content and functionality, with particular emphasis on user registration.

The header banner animation was built in HTML5 to ensure compatibility with iOS devices.

Diabetes in Focus website

A few years ago a good friend of mine who suffers Type 1 diabetes asked me to help out with the site and branding design for an Australian Diabetes portal he wanted to put together. This was my first dealings with the Joomla CMS.

I wasn't sure about the best way to create the design, my friend was going to put together in Joomla - a tool we were both newbies to.

In the end I created a couple of HTML pages for him to convert into the something that could be imported as a template.

After a lot of trial and error the site went live in 2009 and is still going strong today. It proved a good learning experience for the sites I now build in Joomla.

Funeral Directors, Chapels & Crematoriums

For the past several months Meat2Veg has been producing panoramic virtual tours as well as helping out on a major re-branding project for Invocare, the parent company for dozens of Funeral Directors around Australia. Interface design for the websites is based on a common template built using the Sitecore CMS. The CSS files are then updated to give each site it's own unique skin.

To date 25 locations around Australia have been presented as virtual tours with Meat2Veg undertaking overall creative direction and carrying out all the NSW Photography. For the technical buffs out there we use a Canon E0S 50D coupled with a 10-20mm wide angle lens and a Manfrotto 303Plus VR rig to capture the cylindrical panoramics.
You can see an example of one of our virtual tours here.

Whitsunday Sailing Club

Home Page design v8
Recently helped a friend in Queensland on a pet project of his designing the UI for the Whitsunday sailing club's new Drupal site. Got it so close to the finishing line after multiple iterations when a change of approach at the 11th hour was decided upon by the Marketing manager.

BARA Website

After putting together BARA's new branding guidelines we focused on the design and build of their new website. We used the Joomla CMS with a custom designed interface, functionality includes newsletter templates, self registration, secure document management and archive for BARA members. The website can be viewed at www.bara.org.au.

BARA branding

BARA (Board of Airline Representatives of Australia) a Sydney based airline lobby group were long overdue a branding overhaul. The first stage of which involved re-designing their existing logo and communications collateral. Several options were prepared based on outcomes from a preliminary requirements meeting with the client. The BARA board finally chose option 4.
